Chlortetracycline hydrochloride ................... 200 mg

Pharmacological Properties
Chlortetracycline is a bacteriostatic antibiotic with a very broad spectrum of activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It diffuses rapidly throughout body tissues and is eliminated slowly, maintaining effective concentrations for extended periods. It acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis via binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit.
Target Species
Poultry, calves, and foals.
Indications for Use
CHLORTETRADAD 20% is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including:
- Staphylococcus
- Streptococcus
- Clostridia
- Haemophilus
- Klebsiella
- Escherichia coli (E. coli)
- Pasteurella
- Salmonella
It is also effective in Mycoplasma infections (chronic respiratory disease - CRD), avian spirochetosis, actinobacillosis, and chlamydiosis.
Contraindications
None known.
Undesirable Effects
No undesirable effects have been reported when used according to the recommended dosage.
Posology and Method of Administration
- Treatment: 1–2 kg per ton of feed daily for 5 consecutive days.
- Prevention: 0.5–1 kg per ton of feed daily for 5 consecutive days.
Overdose
No adverse effects reported at the recommended dosage.
Withdrawal Period
Animals and birds should not be slaughtered for human consumption within 5 days following the last treatment.
