Composition

Each 150 g can contains:

• Lincomycin (as hydrochloride) ............ 33.3 g
• Spectinomycin (as sulphate) ................ 66.7 g

Pharmacological Properties

Dad–Lincospect Water-Soluble Powder delivers a synergistic antibiotic combination:

• Lincomycin is highly effective against most Gram-positive bacteria, making it ideal for respiratory infections.
• Spectinomycin offers broad-spectrum action against Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and Mycoplasma species, both in vitro and in vivo.

This combination ensures rapid and comprehensive control of infections, particularly in early stages of poultry development.

Target Species

Poultry: chickens and turkeys.

Indications for Use

Dad–Lincospect Water-Soluble Powder is used for:

• Promoting weight gain and enhancing early growth performance.
• Preventing and treating respiratory infections such as Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD), Airsacculitis, Complicated CRD (CCRD), and Omphalitis.
• Treating infections caused by Escherichia coli in poultry.

Its early use helps support flock health during critical stages and around stress events such as vaccination.

Contraindications

• Do not allow birds not intended for treatment to access medicated water.

Undesirable Effects

No adverse effects reported when used according to the instructions.

Dosage and Administration

Chickens

• For growth promotion: 50 mg/kg body weight daily during the first 5–7 days of life.
• For prevention:
  • 150 mg/kg body weight daily for the first 3–5 days of life
  • Then 50 mg/kg body weight daily for 1–2 days around 4 weeks of age or at the time of vaccination.
• For treatment: 1.5 g per 2 liters of drinking water for 3 days, starting at the first signs of disease.

Turkeys

• For prevention and treatment: 150 mg/kg body weight daily for the first 3–5 days of life.

Note:

• Medicated water must be consumed within 12–24 hours of preparation.
• Ensure birds have continuous access to the medicated water during the dosing period.

Overdose

No overdose effects have been recorded when administered as recommended.

Withdrawal Period

• Birds should not be slaughtered for human consumption within 2 days of the last treatment.

Special Precautions for the Administrator

No specific precautions are required during normal handling.
