Pharmacological Properties

Vitamin K3 plays a vital role in the synthesis of prothrombin and other blood clotting factors.
Its deficiency can lead to a significant decrease in prothrombin levels, resulting in prolonged clotting time, hemorrhagic diathesis (severe bleeding from minor injuries), vascular fragility, and growth disturbances.

Supplementation with Vitamin K3 ensures proper blood coagulation, tissue recovery, and vascular stability—especially important during disease outbreaks, after medication with sulfonamides, or before surgical procedures.

• Poultry
• Large animals (ruminants, equines)

Indications for Use

• Treatment and prevention of Vitamin K3 deficiency
• Management of hemorrhagic conditions, such as Infectious Bursal Disease (Gumboro)
• Supportive therapy in coccidiosis and intestinal parasitic infections
• After administration of sulfonamide drugs (e.g., sulfaquinoxaline)
• In cases of toxicity from sweet clover or warfarin
• Treatment of epistaxis (nosebleeds), particularly in racing horses
• As a preventive measure before debeaking or surgery
• To reduce blood spots in eggs

Contraindications

None reported when used as directed.

Undesirable Effects

No known adverse effects.

Posology and Method of Administration

Poultry:

• 1 g per 30 liters of drinking water daily, for 4–5 days

Large animals:

• 1 g per 100 kg body weight daily, for 4 days, (4 mg /kg Body weight).

It is recommended to administer Vitamin K3 Forte within 24–48 hours before debeaking or any surgical procedure.

Overdose

No adverse effects have been reported under normal dosage conditions.
