Composition: Each 1 ml contains:

• product name: ceftiodad
• generic name: cefiofur as hydrochloride 50 mg/ml
• dosage form: injection
• packaging: 100 ml

Properties: 

Ceftiofur is broad spectrum third generation cephalosporin antibiotic, act as bactericidal against gram positive and negative bacteria by inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis.
Poorly absorbed after oral administration and rapidly absorbed after intramuscular administration, peak plasma concentration was attained approximately 30 minutes after I.M administration.
Indications:
CEFTIODAD is indicated in beef and diary cattle for treatment of :
• Bovine Respiratory Disease (pneumonia caused pasteurella haemolytica,
Pasteurella multicida and Heamophilus somnus, shipping fever, BRD)
• Acute postpartum metritis (uterine infection cause by germs sensitive to
ceftiofur)
• Acute bovine interdigital necrobacillosis (foot rot, pododermatitis)
associated with Fusobacterium necrophorum and Bacteroides
melaninogenicus.
Dosage:
Shake well before use
Cattle: 1-2 ml of CEFTIODAD per 45 Kg of body weight for 3-5 I/M or S/C . In cases of acute post – partum metritis: 2 ml of CEFTIODAD per 45 Kg of body weight for 5 days
Contra-indications:
• Not to be given in animals suffering from previous hypersensitivity to
Ceftiofur.
• Don’t inject more than 15 ml in one site of injection
Side effect :
Following S/C or I/M administration area of skin discolourtion at site of injection may persist .
Withdrawal time: Meats: 3 days, milk: zero day
