Pharmaceutical properties:
DADPRIM is a combination of sulphadiazine and trimethoprim. . The result of their synergistic combination is bactericidal effect. This drug is valuable especially against bacteria which constitute therapeutic problem owing to their poly resistance toward the anti- infectious agents as E.coli, Streptococcus, Proteus, Salmonella, Pasteurella, Shigella, Hemophilus, Staphylococcus,Nesseria, Klebsiella, Fusiformis, Corynebacterium, Clostridium, and Bordetella.
Indications:
DADPRIM is indicated for treatment of acute, subacute & chronic infections from bacterial origin in horses, sheep, goats, cattle, dogs & cats. And control of a wide range of respiratory, gastrointestinal and urogenital tract infections caused by sensitive organisms in cattle, sheep, goats, horses,dogs & cats. Other infections such as foot infections, severe mastitis, and infections of the eye, ear and mouth may also be susceptible.
Target species: cattle, sheep, goats, horses, dogs & cats.
Administration and Dosage:
Cattle, sheep & goats: 2 ml Dadprim /16 kg bodyweight daily by intramuscular or slow intravenous .
Horses: 2 ml Dadprim /16 kg bodyweight, slow intravenous injection only .
Dogs & cats : 2 ml Dadprim / 8 kg subcutaneous injection only .
A single injection may be sufficient in uncomplicated conditions, but in severe infections they may be repeated daily until two days after the symptoms resolve, up to a maximum of 5 days.
Withdrawal time:
Milk: 48 hours, Meat:12 days From the last treatment
Don’t use animal products (milk or meat)for human consumption during treatment.
Precautions:
• Use aseptic injection technique.
• Not for use in animal suffering from renal and hepatic disorders.
• Not for use in animal suffering from sulfonamide sensitivity.
• Adequate drinking water should be available during treatment peroid.
• Don’t administer to horses exhibiting drug –induced arrhythmias.
• For intravenous administration the product should be warmed to body temperature
& injected slowly.
• At the first sign of intolerance the injection should be interrupted & shock treatment initiated.
• Don’t handle this product if you know you are sulfonamide sensitivity.
Package: 100 ml, 200 ml amber glass vial.
Storage: Store in a dry place below 30°C, protect from light, do not refrigerate.
Shelf life of the opened bottle is 28 days from the first dose .
