Pharmacological Properties

Dexamethasone has the anti-edematous effect can be obtained by reducing the inflammation of conjunctive tissue and Hydrochlorothiazide has effect by increasing the diuresis.

Clinical Particulars:

Target Species

Horses, Foals, Cattle, Calves.

Indications for use:

Horses:
• Generalized congestion and oedema
• Oedema of sheath
• Anasarca
• Oedema in allergic conditions
Cattle:
• Congestion and oedema of the udder
• Persistent oedema during lactation
• Pulmonary congestion and oedema
• Oedema of surgical wounds
• Oedema of allergic conditions

Contra-indications

Do not use in pregnant animals. Don’t use in animals with viral infections, during the viraemic phase. Do not uses in animals with diabetes mellitus, congestive heart failure, chronic nephritis, osteoporosis or glaucoma. Do not use in animals with hepatic encephalopathy. Do not use in cases of severe hypokalemia. Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredients. Do not use in horses for the treatment of laminitis.

Posology and Method of Administration

adult Horses and Cattle:
Preventative treatment: 20 ml daily for 3 days.
Curative treatment:
• Congestion and mild oedema: 20 ml daily for 2 or 3 days
• Congestion and severe oedema: 40 ml daily for 2 days and 20 ml the third day.
Foals-Calves :4 ml per 40 - 50 kg bodyweight daily for 3 days .

Withdrawal Periods

Meat and offal: 28 days, Milk: 7 days
Treated horses may never be slaughtered for human consumption.

Special Precautions for Storage

Store in dry place ,below 30o C, do not refrigerate.
