Composition
Each 1 ml contains:
- Gentamicin (as sulphate) – 100 mg

Appearance: clear to slightly yellowish, free from suspended particles
Pharmacological Properties
Gentamicin is a bactericidal aminoglycoside antibiotic with broad-spectrum activity.
It acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis and is effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including:
Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pasteurella spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., and Corynebacterium spp.
Target Species
Dogs, cats, horses, cattle, calves, sheep, goats, and poultry
Indications for Use
Gentodad® 10% Injection is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by gentamicin-sensitive organisms.
In dogs and cats:
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Urinary tract infections (cystitis, nephritis)
- Uterine infections (endometritis, metritis)
- Respiratory infections (pneumonia, tracheobronchitis)
- Gastrointestinal infections (colibacillosis, salmonellosis)
- Septicemia
- Arthritis
- Omphalitis
- Otitis and tonsillitis
In horses, cattle, calves, sheep, and goats:
- Uterine infections (metritis)
- Respiratory tract infections
- Wound and soft tissue infections
In poultry and turkeys:
- Control of early chick mortality caused by E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Salmonella typhimurium
- Treatment of air sac infections caused by E. coli
Contraindications
- Do not use in anesthetized animals
- Use with caution in animals with renal dysfunction

Posology and Method of Administration
Administer via intramuscular, subcutaneous, or slow intravenous injection.
Dogs and cats:
- 0.5 ml/10 kg body weight twice on the first day, then once daily for 5–7 days
Poultry (after dilution to 1%):
- One-day-old chicks: 0.2 ml SC in the neck
- Poultry: 1 ml SC in the neck
- Turkeys: 1–2 ml SC in the neck
Large animals (horses, cattle, sheep, goats):
- 2–5 ml/100 kg body weight twice on the first day, then once daily for 5–7 days
Uterine infusion for metritis:
- Cattle: 2 ml Gentodad 10% Injection in 20 ml sterile saline for 3–5 days
- Mares: 20–25 ml Gentodad 10% Injection in 200–500 ml sterile saline for 3–5 days
Dosage and duration should be adjusted by a veterinarian based on clinical evaluation.
Overdose
Overdose may cause neuromuscular blockade. Use strictly according to veterinary direction.
Withdrawal Periods
Animals and birds must not be slaughtered for human consumption within 5 weeks after the last treatment.
Not for use in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption unless specifically advised by a veterinarian.
