COMPOSITION: Each 1ml contains:

  • product name: gentodad 5%
  • generic name:gentamicin (sulphate) 50 mg/ml
  • dosage form: injection
  • packaging: 50 ml, 100 ml, 200 ml

PROPERTIES: Gentamycin is a broad spectrum, bactericidal aminoglycoside antibiotic. It is active against a wide range of gram-negative and gram positive bacteria such as: E.coli, Salmonella, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas aerugenosa, Pasteurella, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus and Corynebacterium.
INDICATIONS: Gentodad 5% is indicated for the treatment of infectious diseases, caused by gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria sensitive to gentamycin in horses, dogs and cats.
In dogs and cats:
1- Skin and soft tissue infections.
2- Urinary tract infections (cystitis, nephritis).
3- Uterine infection (endometritis and metritis).
4- Respiratory tract infections including pneumonia and tracheobronchitis.
5- Gastrointestinal tract infections (Colibacillosis, Salmonellosis).
6- Septicemia.
7- Arthritis.
8- Omphalitis.
9- Otitis and tonsilitis.
Horses, Cattle, Calves, Sheep and goats: Gentodad 5% is indicated in the treatment of uterine infections (metritis), respiratory tract and soft tissue infections and wounds.
Poultry: Gentodad 5% is indicated . Control of early mortality in chicks caused by suseptable E.coli, Pseudomonus aeruginosa and Salmonella typhomrium.Also it is useful in the treatment of air sac infections (E.coli).
Target Species: Horses, Cattle, Calves, Sheep, goats, Poultry, Turkey, Dogs and cats.
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE:
Intramuscularly, subcutaneous or slow intravenous injection.
Dogs and cats: 1 ml per 10 kg b.w. twice daily at the first day, then once daily for 5-7 days.
Poultry: 2 ml Gent dad 5% diluted in 100 ml sterile water to equal concentration 1% then:
One day old chicks: 0.2 ml subcutaneous in the neck.
Poultry: 2 ml subcutaneous in the neck.
Turkey: 2-4 ml subcutaneous in the neck.
Calves, Sheep and goats :
4-10 ml per 100 kg b.w. twice daily at the first day, then once daily for 5-7 days.
For treatment of metritis: intrauterine infusion.
Cattle: 4 ml Gentodad 5% diluted in 20 ml of sterile saline for 3-5 days.
Mares: 40-50 ml Gentodad 5% diluted in 200-500 ml of sterile saline for 3-5 days
WITHDRAWAL TIME: Animal and birds should not be slaughtered within 5 weeks from the last treatment.
PRECAUTION:
* Care should be taken in case of renal disturbance.
* Over dose may result in neuromuscular block.
* It is contraindicated in case of anaesthetized animals.
