Description

Dad-Gentamicin 20% Water-Soluble Powder is a broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic from the aminoglycoside group. It is poorly absorbed from the intestine, making it highly effective in targeting and eliminating gastrointestinal pathogens locally. Gentamicin is active against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including:
Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pasteurella spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., and Corynebacterium spp.

Target Species

Poultry, calves, and lambs.

Indications for Use

Dad-Gentamicin 20% Water-Soluble Powder is used for the prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal infections caused by gentamicin-sensitive bacteria.
It is effective against pathogens such as:
E. coli, Salmonella spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., and Corynebacterium spp.

This makes it ideal for:

• Reducing mortality and improving performance in young animals
• Rapid recovery from enteric infections
• Preventing secondary complications in intensive production systems

Dosage and Administration

• Poultry: 1 g per 40 kg of body weight daily in drinking water for 4–5 days (equivalent to 5 mg/kg b.w.).
• Calves and lambs: 1 g per 40 kg of body weight twice daily in drinking water for 4–5 days.

Medicated water must be freshly prepared daily and be the only source of drinking water during treatment.

Withdrawal Period

Zero withdrawal period – ensuring safe meat production without delay.

Precautions

• Do not store or offer medicated water in rusty containers, as this may inactivate the product.
• Use freshly prepared medicated water each day.
• Not intended for use in animals producing milk or eggs for human consumption unless authorized.

Undesirable Effects

No adverse effects are expected when used as directed.
