Pharmacological Properties

Levamisole is the active L-isomer of tetramisole, and it acts as a potent anthelmintic with broad-spectrum efficacy against gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes.

In addition to its antiparasitic action, levamisole is known to enhance immune function, providing additional support to the animal’s natural defenses. It is fast-acting, highly bioavailable when administered orally, and effective in a wide range of livestock and poultry.

Target Species

Cattle, sheep, goats, and poultry.

Indications for Use

In large animals (cattle, sheep, and goats):
Effective for the treatment of abomasal, intestinal, and lung worms, including common nematodes responsible for production losses.

In poultry:
Highly effective against both mature and immature forms of intestinal roundworms such as Ascaridia galli and caecal worms like Heterakis gallinae.

The product also supports immune function thanks to the immunostimulant effect of levamisole, enhancing the overall resilience of the treated animals.

Contraindications

None known when used as directed.

Undesirable Effects

No adverse effects reported at the recommended dosage.

Posology and Method of Administration

Poultry:
0.2 ml per kg body weight in drinking water for 12 hours. Repeat the same dose after 21 days.

Large animals:
1 ml per 15 kg body weight, administered orally as a single dose.

Overdose

No adverse effects expected at recommended doses. Levamisole has a wide safety margin.

Withdrawal Period

Animals and birds should not be slaughtered for human consumption within 3 days of the last treatment.

No specific precautions required under normal handling. Standard hygiene practices should be followed.
