Dadprim Oral Solution

Composition

Each 1 ml contains:

  • Sulphadiazine sodium                      83.35 mg
  • Trimethoprim                                    16.65 mg

Pharmaceutical Form

Oral solution for administration through drinking water or mixed with milk.

Pharmacological Properties

Dadprim Oral Solution combines sulphadiazine and trimethoprim, two bacteriostatic agents that act synergistically to produce a bactericidal effect.
This combination interferes with successive steps in bacterial folic acid synthesis, making it particularly effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including strains resistant to other antimicrobials.

Indications for Use

Dadprim Oral Solution is indicated for the treatment of enteric and respiratory bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms, including:

  • Salmonella spp.
  • Escherichia coli
  • Klebsiella spp.
  • Proteus spp.
  • Haemophilus spp. (Infectious Coryza)
  • Pasteurella spp.
  • Clostridium spp.
  • Corynebacterium spp.
  • Streptococcus spp.
  • Staphylococcus spp.

It is also effective in the treatment of omphalitis and related systemic infections in young animals.

Contraindications

No specific contraindications have been reported when used according to recommended guidelines.

Undesirable Effects

No undesirable effects are expected under normal dosage conditions.

Posology and Method of Administration

  • Poultry:
    1–1.5 ml per liter of drinking water daily, for 4 to 7 days.
  • Pre-ruminants (calves, lambs, kids):
    3 ml per 10 kg of body weight daily, divided into two doses (morning and evening), administered with water or milk for 4 to 10 days.

Ensure adequate water intake during treatment.

Overdose

No adverse effects are expected when the product is used according to recommended dosages.

Withdrawal Period

Animals and birds must not be slaughtered for human consumption within 7 days of the last treatment.
