Composition
Each 1 g contains:
- Doxycycline HCl – 400 mg
- Oxytetracycline HCl – 400 mg
Pharmacological Properties
Fordox Water-Soluble Powder combines the synergistic action of Doxycycline and Oxytetracycline, two potent tetracycline antibiotics.
- Doxycycline is highly lipophilic, offering superior absorption from the gastrointestinal tract and deeper tissue penetration. It maintains efficacy regardless of calcium levels in feed, making it more reliable than other tetracyclines.
- Oxytetracycline is effective against a broad range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria including Streptococci, Staphylococci, Clostridia, Brucella, Haemophilus, Klebsiella, Corynebacterium, E. coli, Pasteurella, and Salmonella.
It also targets Mycoplasma (CRD), Spirochetes, Actinomyces, Rickettsia, and Chlamydia, and displays some antiprotozoal activity at higher doses.
This dual formulation ensures comprehensive protection against a wide range of pathogens with improved bioavailability and treatment outcomes.

Indications for Use
Fordox Water-Soluble Powder is indicated for the prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal, respiratory, and systemic infections in poultry, including:
- Chronic respiratory disease (CRD)
- Colibacillosis
- Salmonellosis
- Coryza
- Arthritis
- Omphalitis
- Spirochetosis
- Actinomycosis
- Rickettsiosis
- Chlamydiosis
- Some protozoal infections
Its broad-spectrum efficacy and deep tissue penetration make it ideal for high-risk periods and intensive farming systems.
Contraindications
Not to be used in laying hens producing eggs for human consumption.
Undesirable Effects
No adverse effects have been reported at recommended doses.
Posology and Method of Administration
- Poultry: 1 g per 4 liters of drinking water daily for 5–7 days
Overdose
No adverse effects have been reported with overdose.
Withdrawal Period
- Meat: 7 days
- Eggs: Not for use in laying hens producing eggs for human consumption
