Composition

Each 1 ml contains:
Flumequine – 200 mg

Pharmaceutical Form

Oral solution to be administered via drinking water or orally using dosing equipment.

Pharmacological Properties

Flumequine is a first-generation quinolone with potent bactericidal activity, particularly against gram-negative bacteria.
It effectively targets Campylobacter, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus, Pasteurella, and Salmonella spp., disrupting bacterial DNA synthesis and ensuring rapid bacterial elimination.
Due to its favorable pharmacokinetics, Flumequine provides high intestinal and systemic concentrations, making it suitable for treating both localized and systemic infections.

Target Species

Poultry, foals, calves, lambs, kids, and rabbits.

Indications for Use

Newquile 20% Oral Solution is indicated for the prevention and treatment of bacterial infections caused by:

  • Escherichia coli
  • Salmonella spp.
  • Klebsiella spp.
  • Pseudomonas spp.
  • Pasteurella spp.
  • Haemophilus spp.

This product is particularly effective in treating gastrointestinal and respiratory infections, improving survival rates and promoting faster recovery in young and susceptible animals.

Contraindications

None when used as directed.

Undesirable Effects

No adverse effects have been observed at recommended dosages.

Posology and Method of Administration

Poultry

  • 1 ml per 2–4 liters of drinking water daily for 3–5 consecutive days.

Foals and preruminant calves, lambs, and kids

  • 12–15 mg of Flumequine per kg of body weight daily for 5 days.

Rabbits

  • 15–30 mg of Flumequine per kg of body weight daily for 5 days.

Ensure continuous access to medicated water throughout the treatment period.

Overdose

No known overdose effects under recommended conditions.

Withdrawal Period

Do not use meat or animal products for human consumption during treatment and for at least 3 days after the last dose.

Basic hygiene practices such as handwashing are recommended after handling the product.

Store in a dry place below 30°C.
Do not refrigerate.
