Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride – 500 mg

Pharmacological Properties
Oxytetradad 500 – Bolus contains oxytetracycline, a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is also active against certain Mycoplasma, Rickettsiae, Chlamydia, and some protozoa. This makes it a reliable solution for treating multiple bacterial infections in livestock.
Target Species
Beef calves, dairy calves, and lambs.
Indications for Use
Oxytetradad 500 – Bolus is indicated for the treatment and control of bacterial infections caused by oxytetracycline-sensitive organisms, including:
- Bacterial enteritis caused by Salmonella typhimurium and Escherichia coli (Colibacillosis).
- Bacterial pneumonia (Shipping fever complex, Pasteurellosis) caused by Pasteurella multocida.
Contraindications
Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to tetracyclines. Avoid concurrent administration with penicillins.
Undesirable Effects
No significant adverse effects have been reported when used as recommended.
Posology and Method of Administration
Administer orally: 2 boluses per 50 kg body weight every 12 hours (equivalent to 10 mg/kg body weight every 12 hours) for up to 4 consecutive days.
Overdose
No adverse effects reported at recommended dosage levels.
Withdrawal Period
Meat: 7 days.
Do not use in calves intended for veal production.

Store in a dry place, below 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
