Composition
Each 1 g contains:
- Doxycycline hydrochloride – 100 mg
- Tylosin (as tartrate) – 100 mg
Pharmacological Properties
Doxycycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the tetracycline group, known for its high lipo-solubility and superior bacterial penetration compared to other tetracyclines. It is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and maintains its efficacy regardless of calcium levels in feed.
Tylosin, a macrolide antibiotic, is especially effective against Mycoplasma spp. and Gram-positive bacteria. It is rapidly absorbed from the intestine and characterized by low toxicity, making it a safe and potent choice for poultry treatment.
The combination of doxycycline and tylosin in Tylo-Dad-Dox offers synergistic activity against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, and Rickettsia species.
