Composition
Each 1 g contains:
- Tylosin (as tartrate) – 200 mg
- Doxycycline hydrochloride – 200 mg
Pharmacological Properties
Tylo-Dad-Dox 20/20 combines two potent antibiotics with complementary mechanisms of action:
- Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic derived from Streptomyces fradiae. It is effective primarily against Gram-positive bacteria, certain Gram-negative organisms (excluding coliforms), Mycoplasma spp., spirochetes, and even some large viruses.
- Doxycycline belongs to the tetracycline group and stands out for its high liposolubility, enabling deep tissue penetration. It is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and is not affected by calcium levels in feed. Doxycycline offers broader and more potent action compared to standard tetracyclines.
The synergistic effect of tylosin and doxycycline results in enhanced efficacy against a wide range of respiratory and systemic pathogens in poultry.
