Pharmacological Properties

Albendazole is a potent anthelmintic from the benzimidazole group. It exerts its action by inhibiting the polymerization of tubulin into microtubules in parasites, leading to the disruption of vital intracellular functions.
At standard doses, it is highly effective against gastrointestinal and respiratory nematodes. In higher doses, it also combats cestodes and adult trematodes effectively.

Indications for Use

Super Albenzodad Forte 10% Suspension is a high-concentration, broad-spectrum anthelmintic indicated for the treatment and control of:

• Gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes
• Cestodes, especially Moniezia spp.
• Adult trematodes including Fasciola hepatica, Fasciola magna, and Dicrocoelium dendriticum

Its concentrated formulation ensures efficacy at lower volumes, making it ideal for use in large-scale livestock operations.

Contraindications

No specific contraindications reported when used as directed.

Undesirable Effects

No undesirable effects have been observed at therapeutic dosages.

Posology and Method of Administration

Shake well before use. Administer orally as follows:

Sheep and goats

• General deworming: 1 ml per 20 kg body weight
• For trematodes: 1.5 ml per 20 kg body weight

Cattle

• General deworming: 7.5 ml per 100 kg body weight
• For trematodes: 10 ml per 100 kg body weight

Consult a veterinarian for accurate dosing and parasite diagnosis.

Overdose

No adverse effects have been recorded with recommended usage. However, avoid excessive dosing.

Withdrawal Period

• Sheep: Do not slaughter animals within 10 days of the last treatment
• Cattle: Do not slaughter animals within 14 days of the last treatment

Milk withdrawal period should be determined in accordance with local regulations.
