Composition
Each 1 g contains:
- Tetramisole hydrochloride – 100 mg
- Excipients – q.s. to 1 g
Pharmaceutical Form
Water-soluble powder
Pharmacological Properties
Tetramisole is an effective anthelmintic that induces paralysis in nematodes through dual mechanisms:
- Continuous stimulation of the parasite’s nervous system (cholinomimetic effect), leading to spastic paralysis.
- Inhibition of fumarate reductase, disrupting energy metabolism essential for parasite survival.
These combined actions result in rapid and effective expulsion of gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes.
Target Species
Cattle, camels, sheep, goats, buffaloes, and poultry
Indications for Use
Dadmisole 10% Powder is indicated for the treatment and control of gastrointestinal and respiratory nematode infections, including:
- In ruminants and camels: Haemonchus, Ostertagia, Trichostrongylus, Cooperia, Oesophagostomum, and Dictyocaulus spp. (verminous bronchitis)
- In poultry: Capillaria, Ascaridia, and Heterakis spp.
Its broad-spectrum efficacy makes it ideal for integrated parasite control programs in both livestock and poultry.
Contraindications
