Pharmacological Properties
Niclosamide is a salicylanilide anthelmintic with potent activity against tapeworms. It acts by inhibiting oxidative phosphorylation in the parasite’s mitochondria, leading to energy depletion and death. In addition to its strong efficacy against tapeworms, Niclosamide also exhibits activity against liver flukes in certain species.
Target Species
Cattle, sheep, and goats.
Indications for Use
Niclodad Bolus is indicated for the oral treatment and control of tapeworm infections in large animals.
It is particularly effective against:
- Moniezia spp. in cattle, sheep, and goats
- Anoplocephala magna, A. perfoliata, Paranoplocephala mamillana in horses
- Also successfully used in poultry for control of Raillietina spp.
The product helps improve weight gain and feed efficiency by eliminating parasitic load, thus supporting better animal performance and farm profitability.
Contraindications
No known contraindications.
Undesirable Effects
None reported when used as directed.
Posology and Method of Administration
- Cattle: 50 mg Niclosamide per kg body weight
- Sheep and goats: 1 to 2 boluses depending on body weight
Administer orally, preferably with water or as directed by a veterinarian.
Overdose
No adverse effects reported at recommended dosages.
Withdrawal Period
Animals should not be slaughtered for human consumption within 7 days after the last treatment.

Store in a dry, dark place below 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
