Pharmacological Properties

Keto-Blocker Solution contains propylene glycol, a glucose precursor that helps correct negative energy balance. It is metabolized in the liver to propionate and then to glucose, providing a rapid energy source during periods of high metabolic demand. This makes it highly effective in the prevention and treatment of ketosis and pregnancy toxemia (acetonemia) in ruminants.

Indications for Use

Keto-Blocker Solution is recommended for:

• Treatment of ketosis in dairy cattle and pregnancy toxemia in ewes
• Supporting metabolic recovery during late gestation and early lactation
• Restoring energy balance and reducing the risk of complications from negative energy states

Treatment may be continued until clinical symptoms resolve or until parturition. During this period, nutritional support and proper management are strongly recommended. If signs persist or worsen, consult a veterinarian.

Contraindications

None reported when used as directed.

Undesirable Effects

No undesirable effects have been observed at the recommended dosage.

Posology and Method of Administration

For oral administration only. Dosages must be accurately measured using a clean, dry, and graduated container.

• Cattle:
  • 200 ml twice daily on the first day
  • 100 ml twice daily for the next three days
• Sheep:
  • 100 ml once daily for four consecutive days

Overdose

No adverse effects have been observed in cases of overdose.

Withdrawal Period

• Meat: Zero days
• Milk: Zero hours

• Avoid contact with eyes. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with clean water and seek medical attention if irritation occurs.
