Tylosin is an antibiotic produced by Streptomyces fradiae, belonging to the actinomycetes group. It exhibits strong antibacterial activity primarily against Gram-positive bacteria. It is also effective against certain spirochetes, some Gram-negative microorganisms (excluding coliforms), large viruses, and specific Mycoplasma species. This broad yet targeted activity makes Tylodad a valuable treatment option for various bacterial infections.
