Vitamin E+Selenium Injection

Composition

Each 1 ml contains:

  • Vitamin E: 60 mg
  • Selenium (as sodium selenite): 1.5 mg

Pharmaceutical Form

Sterile solution for intramuscular (IM) or subcutaneous (SC) injection

Pharmacological Properties

Vitamin E is a vital antioxidant that protects cellular membranes and vascular integrity, playing a crucial role in immune function and muscle health. Selenium is an essential trace element involved in tissue respiration and the prevention of dietary hepatic necrosis. When combined, vitamin E enhances the biological action of selenium, making their co-administration particularly effective in preventing oxidative stress and muscle degeneration.

Target Species

Horses, cattle, sheep, ewes, lambs, and calves

Indications for Use

Preventive Use

  • On farms located in selenium-deficient soil areas
  • When animals are fed vitamin E-deficient diets, such as those based on moist stored grains or maize silage
  • In herds or flocks with a history of deficiency, reflected in poor fertility, nutritional muscular dystrophy (white muscle disease), or stress-related conditions
  • To support pregnant ewes, reducing the risk of deficiency in newborn lambs
  • To boost antioxidant levels during periods of heavy workload, especially in performance horses

Therapeutic Use

  • For the treatment of various forms of nutritional muscular dystrophy (white muscle disease or nutritional myopathy), affecting cardiac and/or skeletal muscles
  • To address symptoms associated with vitamin E and selenium deficiencies

Contraindications

  • Do not exceed the recommended dose.
  • Use with caution in areas with adequate or high selenium levels to avoid toxicity.

Undesirable Effects

  • None reported when used as directed.
