Dadprim Suspension for Injection

Composition

Each 1 ml contains:

  • Sulfadiazine sodium: 400 mg
  • Trimethoprim: 80 mg

Pharmaceutical Form

Sterile injectable suspension.
Color: Off-white to brown.

Pharmacological Properties

Dadprim Suspension Injection is a synergistic combination of sulfadiazine and trimethoprim, providing a bactericidal effect through the inhibition of sequential steps in bacterial folic acid synthesis.

This combination is particularly effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Streptococcus, Proteus, Salmonella, Pasteurella, Shigella, Haemophilus, Staphylococcus, Neisseria, Klebsiella, Fusiformis, Corynebacterium, Clostridium, and Bordetella.

It is especially useful in cases involving bacterial resistance to conventional antimicrobial agents.

Target Species

Cattle, sheep, and goats.

Indications for Use

Dadprim Suspension Injection is indicated for the treatment and control of:

  • Respiratory tract infections
  • Gastrointestinal infections
  • Urogenital tract infections
  • Foot infections and mastitis
  • Ocular, aural, and oral infections

Suitable for infections caused by organisms sensitive to the active ingredients in cattle, sheep, and goats.

Contraindications and Precautions

  • Do not use in animals with renal or hepatic impairment.
  • Do not use in animals intended for human consumption during treatment.
  • Use aseptic injection technique.
  • Shake well before use.
  • No known toxicity at therapeutic doses.
  • Adverse reactions are rare when used as recommended.

Undesirable Effects

None observed under normal use.

Posology and Method of Administration

Administer intramuscularly after shaking the vial well:

  • Cattle, sheep, and goats:
    1 to 1.5 ml per 30 kg body weight
    (equivalent to 16–24 mg/kg)

Repeat, if necessary, as directed by a veterinarian.

Overdose

No adverse effects have been reported at recommended dosage levels.

Withdrawal Period

  • Milk: 48 hours (4 milkings)
  • Meat: 28 days

  • Store in a dry place below 30°C.
  • Do not refrigerate.
  • Protect from direct light.
