Each 1 g contains:

  • Amoxicillin (as trihydrate) – 200 mg

Pharmacological properties

Amoxicillin is a semi-synthetic derivative of penicillin with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
It acts as a bactericidal agent by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.
Amoxicillin is characterized by low toxicity and is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract.

Indications for use

Amoxydad 20% Water-Soluble Powder is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria sensitive to amoxicillin, such as:

  • Staphylococcus spp.
  • Streptococcus spp.
  • Escherichia coli
  • Salmonella spp.
  • Klebsiella spp.
  • Proteus spp.
  • Haemophilus spp.
  • Pasteurella spp.
  • Clostridium spp.
  • Spirochetosis infections

Contraindications

  • No known contraindications.

Undesirable effects

  • No undesirable effects have been reported when used as recommended.

Posology and method of administration

  • Poultry: 1 g of Amoxydad 20% Water-Soluble Powder per 2 liters of drinking water daily for 4–5 days.
  • Pre-ruminants: 11–15 mg of amoxicillin per kg of body weight daily for 3–4 days.
  • Dogs and cats: 11 mg of amoxicillin per kg of body weight every 12 hours for 3–4 days.

Overdose

  • No adverse effects reported in cases of overdose.

Withdrawal period

  • Animals and birds must not be slaughtered for human consumption within 3 days after the last treatment.

Special safety precautions for the person administering the product

  • None required under normal conditions of use.

Special precautions for storage

  • Store in a dry place at a temperature below 30°C.
  • Protect from direct sunlight.
