Composition
Each 1 g of Lincodad Water-Soluble Powder contains:
- Lincomycin (as hydrochloride) – 400 mg
Pharmacological Properties
Lincomycin is a lincosamide antibiotic derived from Streptomyces lincolnensis.
It is highly effective against most gram-positive bacteria, anaerobic organisms, and spirochetes, making it especially useful in controlling enteric infections in poultry.
Lincomycin is not effective against fungi, yeasts, or viruses. Its mode of action is bacteriostatic or bactericidal depending on concentration and the susceptibility of the organism.
Target Species
Poultry (broilers).
Indications for Use
Lincodad Water-Soluble Powder is indicated for the prevention and treatment of necrotic enteritis in broiler chickens, particularly when caused or complicated by Clostridium spp.
It is recommended to use at the first clinical signs of the disease for maximum effectiveness.
Contraindications
Do not allow access to medicated feed or drinking water for the following species:
- Rabbits
- Hamsters
- Guinea pigs
- Horses
- Dairy cattle
- Other ruminants
Ingestion by these animals may cause severe gastrointestinal disturbances or metabolic disorders such as ketosis in dairy cattle.
Undesirable Effects
No adverse effects have been reported when used as directed.
Posology and Method of Administration
- Add 1 g of Lincodad Water-Soluble Powder to 25 liters of drinking water daily for 7 consecutive days.
- This provides approximately 16 mg lincomycin base per liter.
- Use medicated water as the sole source of drinking water during treatment.
Overdose
No overdose symptoms have been documented under recommended conditions.
Withdrawal Period
No withdrawal period is required when used as directed.

No specific precautions are required. Wash hands after handling.
