Composition

Each 1 g contains:
Oxytetracycline HCl – 500 mg

Pharmacological Properties

Oxytetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the tetracycline group. It is effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including:
Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Clostridium spp., Brucella spp., Haemophilus spp., Klebsiella spp., Corynebacterium spp., Escherichia coli, Pasteurella spp., Salmonella spp., and others.

It also demonstrates activity against Mycoplasma, Rickettsia, Chlamydia, and some protozoal infections at higher doses.
Its ability to act on both aerobic and anaerobic organisms makes it a highly versatile option for controlling respiratory, gastrointestinal, and systemic infections.

Target Species

Poultry, calves, and lambs.

Indications for Use

Oxytetradad 50% is recommended for the prevention and treatment of infections caused by:

  • Gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria
  • Mycoplasma
  • Rickettsia
  • Chlamydia
  • Spirochetes
  • CRD (Chronic Respiratory Disease)
  • Actinomyces

It supports fast recovery, improved weight gain, and reduced mortality in livestock and poultry.

Contraindications

None when used as recommended.

Undesirable Effects

No undesirable effects have been reported at recommended dosages.

Posology and Method of Administration

Poultry

  • Via drinking water: 1 g per 4–8 liters for 5–7 days.
  • As a feed premix: 0.5–1 kg per 1 ton of feed daily for 5–7 days.

Calves and lambs

  • 1 g per 25–50 kg body weight daily for 4–5 days.
    Adjust dosage based on severity and duration of infection as advised by the veterinarian.

Overdose

No adverse effects are known in case of overdose when used according to label instructions.

Withdrawal Period

  • Calves and lambs: 10 days
  • Chickens and turkeys: 7 days
  • Eggs: 1 day

Do not use animal products for human consumption during treatment and within the withdrawal period.

However, general hygiene practices such as washing hands after use are advised.
