Composition
Each 1 g contains:
- Sulphadiazine Sodium 400 mg
- Trimethoprim 80 mg
Pharmacological Properties
Dadprim is a synergistic combination of Sulphadiazine and Trimethoprim. While each compound is bacteriostatic on its own, their combination results in a bactericidal effect by inhibiting sequential steps in bacterial folic acid synthesis.
This dual-action mechanism makes Dadprim highly effective against a wide range of pathogens, particularly in cases where resistance to other antimicrobials is a concern.
